The salt therapy
Salt therapy, also known as halotherapy (from the Greek “halos”, meaning salt), is a practice based on the inhalation of nebulised sodium chloride in a specially designed environment.
In this context, salt acts directly on the respiratory tract, the skin and the nervous system, thanks to the specific properties of its ions.
The benefits of halotherapy are expressed through several mechanisms:
Mucolytic, hyposensitising and antibacterial activity:
-
Helps dissolve mucus
-
Improves sinusitis
-
Supports the treatment of asthma and chronic ear or tonsil infections
Anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating activity:
-
Promotes the treatment of psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema
-
Supports the management of rheumatic conditions
-
Improves allergies, reduces stress and promotes better-quality sleep
Decongestant effect:
-
Improves blood circulation
-
Helps counteract hypertension-related issues
Rooted in ancient speleotherapy, salt therapy is now offered in controlled environments that recreate the ideal conditions of a salt cave.
At the Terme di Rabbi, the aim is to provide a modern space where the sound of the Rabbies stream and a mural inspired by the valley accompany a relaxing and beneficial experience.
