The legend of "Bastianel dei Micli"

Everything was born from him, a small shepherd that with his shep have discoverd the efficacy of the thermal water. From here, the fame of the ferruginous water of Terme di Rabbi it has expanded until it arrived at the austriac court of Maria Teresa.

Now a day is rapresented on the advertising poster of Terme with a bottle of thermal wateer in her hands, from her called natural elisr. Ages ago our water was exported in all the Austro-Hungharian empire and considered superior of the other mineral waters. This water was defined a "long life elisr".

When was the water discoverde?

Probably of its existence had been known since the Middle Age. 

From XVI century noble families paid attention to the benefits of the mineral water of Rabbi: in 1553 the Thun family frequent the thermal bath for curative pourpose. 

A century later this water became of public domain. In 1660 Sigismondo Ercole Thun went to San Bernerdo under his dotor advice for be taken care.

In 1777 Heinrich Crantz told the sovereing Maria Teresa to employ at court the water of Rabbi, considering the water of Rabbi superior to the other water, also the foreign waters. 

There were numerous important people that in the past visited Terme di Rabbi: exponent of the austriac nobility, the Lombard and Venetian nobility and other more important exponent of the Italian nobility.

Of this important people there was also Antonio Stoppani: a geologist and paleontologist that in 1876 described the locality of Bagni di Rabbi the place were he have refounded health and well-being.
